Schneider Engineering & Consulting, Inc. (SEC) specializes in the planning, permitting and design of marine structures and related infrastructure for private marine terminals, marine contractors, and other engineering firms throughout the Americas and the Caribbean.
Principals and senior staff within the company have over 60 years of experience as ”Engineers of Record” for numerous major cruise terminal projects throughout the Caribbean, the largest private shipping container terminal in the Southeast U.S., and a state-of-the-art petroleum terminal in Houston, Texas. SEC staff also have significant experience as lead designers for major marine facility design and build projects for cruise lines, petroleum companies, and the U.S. Navy.
SEC provides engineering solutions for all phases of marine structure design, from concept through construction completion. We create designs that add value to our clients’ projects – constructability, ease of operation, easy maintenance, and sustainability – while effectively addressing their on-time and on-budget needs. Design deliverables can be prepared using a conventional design-bid-construct model or fast-track design-build model.
SEC offers a full spectrum of consulting options for clients and projects. Our services include initial studies and concept development, financial and facilities planning, feasibility studies, regulatory agency permit applications, and site suitability studies.
SEC provides final design and development of construction plans and documents, design reviews, peer reviews, and preliminary and final opinion of probable construction costs, as well as project management and bid preparations. Construction services, such as construction observations, special inspections, shop drawing and submittal reviews, and constructability reports are also available.
SEC has the expertise to create wide-ranging and sustainable solutions to environmental challenges. Our experienced maritime environmental staff provides a full range of required waterfront-related environmental studies and permitting in a cost-effective and responsive manner, both in the U.S. and abroad. Specific services include natural resource assessment, regulatory permitting, environmental impact analysis, and mitigation.
